Since I love trying out new beauty products each month, I gave in to the beauty box craze and decided to subscribe to the Glam Bag by Ipsy.

Ipsy is a monthly subscription ($10USD + $4.95 USD shipping to Canada) that provides you with a cute makeup bag and 4-5 curated beauty items whose combined value exceeds the cost of the monthly subscription. I though this would be a great treat for me this year and I like that Ipsy allows me to try out products that I’ve never heard of or have the chance to come across in my usual beauty shopping routine.

So far, I love the goodies I received this month and plan to test them out over the next few weeks and report back on my faves.

Check out this month’s Ipsy goodies from the “Metropolis” theme below.

Sally’s Box Acaiberry Mask & Loveberry Aloe Mask – $15USD ea.

These are 2 moisturizing sheet masks just in time for the cold month of January. I’ve never heard of this Korean brand (whose apparent focus is deep moisturizing), but I’m excited to see if the hyaluronic acid in these masks will work to give me a smooth, hydrated and glowy complexion. Can’t wait to scare my husband while wearing one of these on a Friday night.

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02 – $14.99USD

I loved this loose eyeshadow pigment as soon as I swatched it. Desert Sunset is a beautiful rose gold that gives a stunning shimmer to the skin. I’m curious to see how it holds up on my oilier lids throughout the day.

SLMissGlam Blend Beauty Brush L34 – $13.50USD

This eyeshadow blending brush is just the thing I was missing in my brush collection. The soft pink handle and ombre bristles make it easy to find in my brush holder and looks perfect for adding shadow to my crease or outer corners. My daughter liked it too and quickly stole it from me to (pretend) paint the walls of my house.

ModelCo Blush in “Peach Bellini” – $22USD

This is another brand I’ve never heard of, but I can’t wait to try out this blush in the warmer months. It had a great pigment when I swatched it and has a silky, almost buttery texture. Hopefully it isn’t too “peachy” for my fair skin, although I’m sure I can find someone who would love it as a gift if it doesn’t work for me.

Rimmel London Lip Conditioning Balm by Kate Moss – $5.49USD

I never knew Rimmel had a lip balm, but I was glad to get this one. I tried it last night and it went on smooth with no clumping or excess product gathering on my lips. This one’s going into my purse, for sure.

Metropolis Makeup Bag

I love little makeup bags to hold all my beauty accessories in my purses. This silver skyscraper themed bag will be a nice addition to my collection.
