I was so happy to receive the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream from Wishtrend.com to try out!

For anyone not familiar with Wishtrend.com, it’s an online retailer of Korean skin care and beauty products from brands such as Mizon, Klairs, Cosrx and many more.

In this review, I’ll explain how this little tube of blue goodness can soothe irritated, sunburnt or blemished skin in a hurry and why you need this gem in your skin care arsenal for all your skin emergencies.

What Does The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Do? Who Can Use It?

This 30mL of blue goodness is a spot treatment for blemishes, facial redness and overall angry skin spots and is made to calm and strengthen the barriers of stressed skin and is made for all skin types.

Klairs products are also cruelty free.

What You Get

You get 30mL of this cream in a container with a twist off cap. The cream is odourless and it has a silky texture – not too heavy or too light. It retails for about $25USD.

Is Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream A Moisturizer?

It’s important to know that this blue cream is not meant to be used as a stand-alone moisturizer. It’s a skin soothing and calming cream to treat burned or irritated/inflamed skin.  You should follow it up with a stand-alone moisturizer if you want to add hydration to your skin.

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Is Made With Guaiazulene and Centella Asiatica

The main ingredient in the Midnight Blue Calming Cream is Guaiazulene, which is made from herbal ingredients extracted from chamomile – well known for its skin soothing properties.

Guaiazulene is not only responsible for the lovely blue colour of this cream, but has the ability to calm inflamed or damaged skin tissue as well as promote the regeneration of skin cells. It’s also a common ingredient in burn ointments in Japan.

Centella Asiatica Extract is another key ingredient, also known as “tiger grass.” Centella Asiatica promotes skin regeneration and prevents scarring while promoting collagen production.

This cream has an awesome ingredient list, which I’ve included below along with some hints at what some of these ingredients can do.

Full Ingredients List for Midnight Blue Calming Cream, with details of key ingredients:

Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate (hydration + would healing), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Centella Asiatica Extract (wound healing+collagen), Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (moisturizer), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (antioxidant + hydrating + anti-flaking agent (dry patches), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (anti-inflammatory + anti-microbial ), Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearic Acid, Portulaca Oleracea Extract (anti-inflammatory + anti-irritation), Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (anti-bacterial  + anti-inflammatory + wound healing), Ceramide NP (prevents moisture loss), Polysorbate 60, Bees Wax, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Morus Alba Root Extract (anti-microbial + anti-inflammatory), Triethanolamine, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Guaiazulene (Anti-microbial/Anti-bacterial + anti-inflammatory), Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Lecithin, Acetyl Glutamine, sh-Oligopeptide-1, sh-Oligopeptide-2, sh-Polypeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide-9, sh-Polypeptide-11 (stimulate cell growth), Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

How I Use Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream In My Skin Care Routine

I love the blue colour of this cream and the packaging comes with a fancy acrylic spoon so you can grab the product without dipping your fingers into the tub. Midnight Blue has zero fragrance (thank you Klairs) and a refreshing cooling sensation.

While it’s designed as a calming spot treatment, it spreads well and a little goes a long way. I like to apply this cream onto my cheeks and nose (where I have the most redness) and the odd bump or blemish that I’ve tweaked (*squeezed).

I actually had several small bumps crop up on my face during the last couple weeks and Midnight Blue helped clear them up quickly. This cream also feels amazing all over my face after a torturous derma rolling session and a little goes a long way.

This cream goes onto the skin clear, absorbs in seconds without any tackiness or greasiness and doesn’t interfere with my makeup. While nothing will get rid of my redness, this cream does calm it down quite a bit.

I’d love to be able to use Midnight Blue all over my face as opposed to a spot treatment, but then I’d blow through the 30mL tub in a heartbeat!

If you’re suffering from sensitive, damaged, blemished or otherwise stressed skin, you might want to check out Klair’s Midnight Blue Calming Cream. It won’t turn you blue, I promise!
