NYX Pore Filler Blurring Primer For Flawless Skin

I hate the pores I have on my cheeks, so anything that promises me poreless skin will probably get me to buy it.

While we can’t permanently shrink our pores, we can minimize how large they look by following a good skin care routine and using a pore filling primer before applying makeup.

I tried the NYX Pore Filler Blurring Primer hoping it would fill in my pores for a flawless finish and it quickly became my go-to pore filler!

Texture

Pore Filler is a very thin silicone primer with a light orange tint to it; very different from the usual suspects of silicone primers that come in a thick, clear formula.

What Does NYX Cosmetics Pore Filler Do?

NYX Pore Filler is a skin-smoothing primer that reduces the appearance of pores when applied before foundation. The formulation is free of talc and oil to help prevent blocked pores and contains antioxidant vitamin E to smooth skin.

It is a pure vegan formula too!

How To Use NYX Pore Filler

I usually only apply primer to my cheeks and the areas around my nose, which is where I apply Pore Filler. I found due to the thin texture of this primer that I needed to use more product than with other primers to get the same coverage.

For best results, I like to press the primer into my skin to fill each section of pores.

The primer left my skin soft and smooth and I found pushing the primer into my pores, rather than massaging it worked better to fill them in.

Only thing I found annoying was that this bottle has a lot of air in it and when you squeeze it to get the primer out, it kind of shoots it out in pieces. I always have to prepare myself before squeezing the bottle to literally catch the primer.

Does NYX Pore Filler Work?

Pore Filler did fill the deeper pores on and around my nose, as well as the smaller pores on my cheeks and I much preferred it to the Maybelline Baby Skin primer that everyone raves about. Pore Filler is more expensive but better. The signs of a good pore filling primer is that you should see your pores look less visible as you apply it, which is what happens when I use this primer.

I’ve tried a ton of silicone primers, but this by far has been a long-time favourite and still holds my number 1 pore-filling primer spot!

Overall, I think NYX Pore Filler is a good primer, especially if you have deeper pores to fill. I find it a bit pricey for the drugstore, but I think the thinner consistency will work for you if you’re not a fan of thick, silicone primers.

  1. This sounds like a great primer, but I agree that it’s pretty pricey for a drugstore product. Still would love to give it a go!

  2. I’ve only tried one primer from NYX, the Angel Veil and I like it. I usually reach for my Hourglass Veil Mineral primer the most though, I find it to prolong my makeup, control oil and smoothes out my skin.

    1. I’ve never tried POREfessional, so I don’t want to make that jump, but it is a good pore filler. I have heard that Maybelline’s Baby Skin Primer (which I also have) is supposed to be a good POREfessional dupe and is more affordable than NYX Pore Filler.
