Vichy Idealia Night Peeling Care

I really wanted to try out something new fro Vichy and decided on the Vichy Idealia Radiance Activating Night Peeling Care exfoliating toner.

Man! Am I glad I picked this peel, because (spoiler alert) we are now skin care BFFs.

What’s In Vichy Idealia Peeling?

Vichy Idealia Night peel (although I feel it’s more of a toner, since you don’t rinse it off, as opposed to a peel) contains 4% glycolic acid as well as citric acid as active ingredients and claims to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin (although it has a fragrance that may irritate sensitive skin types – right Vichy?).

As with all glycolics, this product promises to remove dead skin cells, reduce pore size and promote skin regeneration to give you brighter, smoother skin. And…it claims to do all this after 1 week of daily use – OK, I’ll bite!

First Impressions and Application

The saleswoman warned me to only use this peel once or twice a week. Being an acid lover used to 10% glycolic content, I was pretty sure I could use this daily, but decided to only use it a few days a week to see how things went.

I pour a bit of the toner onto a cotton pad and apply it all over my face and neck after cleansing (do not rinse it off!). Besides the strong fragrance (which I could really do without), I haven’t experienced any negatives such as burning, tingling, irritation or peeling.

After the first use, I was amazed at how much smoother my skin looked already. I can remember leaning into my vanity mirror the next morning and thinking “Holy sh*t!.”

Besides my Paula’s Choice 1% Clinical Retinol (which I am missing to death during my pregnancy), no other skin care product has had such an immediate effect on my skin. I found with continued use, my skin seemed to get even smoother and the pesky pores on my cheeks have reduced A LOT.

The Verdict?

Vichy Idealia Night Peel and I will be together, forever. Along with my Drops of Youth, Youth Liquid Peel from The Body Shop,  it has become one of the most coveted products in my skin care basket.

The only negatives with this peel (besides the fragrance) is that it comes in a glass bottle. Being constantly fatigued and clumsy in my old age makes me dread the day I drop this sucker onto my bathroom tiles and unleash a stream of profanities afterwards – I hate heavy glass bottles!

Minor complaints aside, this product is definitely worth the price tag. The effectiveness of this peel (especially with only 4% glycolic acid) actually makes me look forward to the next morning to see its results and proves that some skin care products can actually live up their claims.

  1. I fell in love with Vichy after picking up a set from them late last year. This one sounds really nice! I’ll have to look into it 🙂

  2. I love this too and it’s amazing on my skin! It broke out my colleague’s skin though and she was heart broken about it because she saw how amazing it was on my skin.

    1. It’s such a bummer when you want to use a product but can’t. I have the same issue with “glowy” or “dewy” products because of my oily skin. But I still love reading posts about them…
