I recently received a lovely package of Burt’s Bees makeup to test out from Influenster that promised to make me glow like a star! My package included: the Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation, 2 All Aglow cheek & lip sticks, the All Aglow highlighter and bronzer sticks and their Nourishing mascara.
So what were my faves of the bunch?

Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation – Shade 1005, Porcelain (lightest shade)
Brand Claims: This foundation is a 98.9% natural mineral foundation that will provide an even, smooth and natural finish that will last all day. It comes in 12 full coverage shades that won’t look “…heavy, cakey or greasy.” Ok…we’ll see about that. Goodness Glows is formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances and is dermatologist tested and never tested on animals. It should be shaken before each use.
Bottle/Formula/Shade: Goodness Glows comes in a glass bottle with a handy pump (thank you Burt’s Bees!) and is a fairly thick foundation. It has no added fragrance, but the “natural” fragrance of it makes it smell quite funky – not a fan of the natural scent but it doesn’t last long. The Porcelain shade is a great light neutral and it’s pretty much a perfect match for me at the moment.
Coverage/Blendability: Goodness Glows has great coverage and is definitely a medium to full coverage foundation. Unfortunately, it doesn’t blend well on certain parts of my skin (between the eyebrows, upper lip, chin) and has a very heavy look to it in those areas, so I actually hated it the first time I tried it!
I found I had to add a couple drops of my Beauty Creations primer oil to it to thin it out and make it blend better, which really helped. It applies best with a brush, but I then use my fingers to further blend it out in my problem areas.
Finish/Longevity: While the application takes a bit of work, I actually quite liked the finished product once I finally get Goodness Glows to blend. You can see swatches of this foundation in the pics below and might be able to see the sheen it gives to the skin. The higher coverage helps tone down the pinkness in my cheeks and it provides a lovely glowy, satin finish to the skin. It does remain tacky on the skin, although this isn’t an issue for me, as I always set my entire face with the RCMA No-Color powder due to my skin getting oily as the day goes on.
After being fully set with powder, I find Goodness Glows to last quite well on my oily skin, although I get a bit of fading on my chin from touching it throughout the day. Overall, I love the glowy finish and coverage of this foundation, but wish it blended better.

Burt’s Bees Natural All Aglow Lip & Cheek Sticks– Shades “Dahlia Dew” and “Suez Sands”
I was so excited to try out these lip and cheek sticks, since I’ve recently fallen back in love with cream blushes! Brand Claims: These sticks are super dewy and have a non-pigmented hydrating coconut core in the centre that promises a healthy, natural glow.
The sticks are packed with Jojoba Seed Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil to further nourish skin and are 100% natural and free from parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS. There are 6 shades available in the range. How To Apply? I applied these sticks to the back of my hand and then used a dense blush brush to pick up the product and stipple it on my cheeks. I wouldn’t recommend applying the stick directly to your cheek – the non-pigmented core means the pigment isn’t easily applied and the greasiness of it could shift your makeup underneath.
Did They Work? Well, yes and no. The pink shade”Suez Sands” looks super pretty in the stick, but has very little pigment, so I found it didn’t show up on me very well and it definitely didn’t last the day. The shade deeper “Dahlia Dew” worked out much better and gives the cheeks a nice, natural flush and glow, as if I’ve just come back from a light, non-sweaty jog. These sticks are super dewy, so oily skin types might not enjoy them. They have a very slick, dewy/greasy finish and stay tacky on the skin, so I actually used a fluffy powder brush with a bit of powder to set them for longevity.
Overall, I liked the shade “Dahlia Dew” and would continue to use it, but have to set it with a bit of powder to make it last. Suez Sands might make it into my purse as a super chunky lip balm though!

Burt’s Bees All Aglow Bronzer & Highlighter Sticks in “Opal Mist” and “Bronze Splash”
Brand Claims: Similar to the lip & cheek sticks, the bronzer and highlighter versions have a non-pigmented, hydrating coconut core and are infused with Jojoba Oil, Cupuacu Butter, and Daikon Radish Extract hydrate skin for an all-day glow. The sticks are 100% natural.
How I Apply Them: I like to use my finger to grab the highlighter and then tap it onto my cheekbones. I had a hard time applying the bronzer – didn’t work well with my finger or a brush and the pigment just disappears on me.
Did They Work? The highlighter is truly stunning! It gives my skin a gorgeous dewy, wet sheen and I liked it even when my skin got slightly oily later in the day. Similar to the lip & cheek sticks, it has a greasy feel to it, but you could always apply a powder highlighter on top to set it and boost shine if you wanted (I don’t though). If you’re super oily, this highlighter will be a no-go for you.
The bronzer is another story. It has the most beautiful golden glow but disappears on my skin when I start to apply it. I’m thinking of trying it out as a body highlighter in the summer when I get a bit of colour, but I won’t be applying it to my face again.

Burt’s Bees Natural Nourishing Mascara
Brand Claims: This mascara comes in two shades and is 100% natural. It promises to lengthen and define lashes while nourishing them with Jojoba Oil and glycerin. It’s also is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers and is formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances. It’s ophthalmologist tested and cruelty free. Did It Work? The Nourishing Mascara works best for someone looking for a more natural, low-key lash look – I grab it a lot on the weekends when I want a minimal lash look. It has a wonderful rubber-bristled wand, which I love for defining lashes, but it doesn’t add tons of length and no volume.
I can easily apply a couple coats of this to my lashes without any clumping or flaking and the wand itself doesn’t grab too much product, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning off any excess before applying. It also removes easily with a standard makeup remover. Overall, if you’re looking for a no-makeup kind of mascara look that nourishes your lashes, you might like this one.
