Can you ever have too many blushes?
If you’re a makeup addict, I’m pretty sure the word “no” is sounding in your head. Blushes are a staple in my makeup routine to bring some life into my cheeks and help me look more radiant in a pinch. Nowadays, there’s been a lot of emphasis on contour, highlight and bronzing products, but blush is a makeup staple that your makeup collection just can’t live without, no matter what makeup trends are making the rounds.
And the best part? You don’t have to spend a fortune for a good blush!
Drugstore makeup has come a long way in the last few years, with many products performing as well, if not better, than high end makeup.
Here are 10 drugstore blushes that you need in your makeup collection ASAP. Not sure which to pick for your skin type? If you’re oily or suffer from large pores, fine lines or texture on your cheeks, stick to matte blushes. Dry skin types should grab blushes with a shimmery or radiant finish to amp up the glow.
Looking for a drugstore cream or liquid blush? Then this post is what you’re looking for!

1 . NYX High Definition Blush
This NYX High Definition blush is very finely milled drugstore blush that provides great pigment and blends easily.
The finish of this blush is matte, making it perfect for the hot summer when things get extra dewy or for oily skin types who need to reduce their shine.
The only negative I have with this blush is that it’s so finely milled that some of the powder gets loose and can be a bit messy, but the colour payoff is wonderful!
My favourite is the Taupe shade, which is perfect for contouring if you have fair skin.

2. e.l.f. Cosmetics Powder Blush Palette in “light”
I purchased this e.l.f. blush palette based on a recommendation from one of my favourite YouTubers, KathleenLights.
This palette holds 4 well pigmented blush shades. The blushes are matte, long lasting and super affordable at only $8 for the palette.
The blushes themselves are also removable and can be popped into another similar e.l.f. palette as needed – cool right?

3. Revolution Beauty Ultra Blush and Contour Palette – “Hot Spice”
The Revolution Beauty Blush palette has crazy pigment, so you need to be careful with this one! For $20 you get six matte blushes and two shimmer blush toppers, which can also be used as highlights along the cheek bones or as eyeshadow.
I have this palette in the berry-toned “sugar and spice” for medium to fair skin tones, and the “Hot Spice” palette pictured below is for warmer/deeper skin tones.

4. Milani Cosmetics Baked Powder Blushes
The Milani baked blushes are a drugstore staple and a must-have if you love shimmery blushes and have normal to dry skin. I finally got myself one of this blushes in the cult classic “Luminoso” shade – a pinky/peach colour – and it is stunning!
It has great pigment and gives a lovely shimmer to the cheek – perfect for adding some glow in the colder months when my skin gets more dull. Due to the shimmer, I wouldn’t recommend it for oily skin types.
For oily skin types, I would recommend the Milani Rose Powder blushes instead – they’re super gorgeous and provide a matte finish and are always at the top of the list as some of the best drugstore blushes.

8. Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush
Drew Barrymore’s makeup brand Flower Beauty is one that I’ve been dying to try and haven’t been able to get my hands on. My first crush from the brand? Their Flower Pots Powder Blushes.
These blush compacts have the prettiest flower pressed into the powder and have won the Allure Magazine best of beauty awards in 2018 for being easy to blend and buildable with a cruelty free matte formula for $10.
If you prefer a cream blush, you can consider the brand’s Blush Bomb cream blushes instead.

10. e.l.f. Cosmetics Studio Blush
I love these blushes from e.l.f. They are very well pigmented (so apply lightly!) and last all day through pretty much anything.
They are very affordable at $10 on Amazon and provide a gorgeous soft matte finish.
I actually love my true match blush! I have a darker one though and have never had problems with it not leaving pigment on my skin. It’s also 100xs better if you use a brush instead of the pad given, but I’m sure almost all products are like that!
Yes, I think I would have to invest in a darker shade in this line to get the colour to show. Does anyone use the brushes provided? Seems like such a waste?
The Elf Palette is amazing for the price! Really great deal! i got the highlighter palette too ! Amazing

I plan to try the highlighting palette next!
