Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Gives Me Fluttery-Long Lashes That Hold Their Curl

My Essence Volume Stylist mascara finished over a month ago (loved it, highly recommend!) so I was finally able to crack open the Lancôme Monsieur Big mascara that I purchased during a great Sephora holiday sale back in December.

Monsieur Big gets a lot of love in the makeup community for giving people insanely long lashes, so you know I just had to try it out for myself…and it’s gooood.

What Does Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Do?

Lancôme claims this mascara is “A long-lasting, voluminous mascara with a black-boosting polymer in its pigment for 12 times more volume and up to 24 hours of wear.”

It’s “gel-like” texture is supposed to be buildable and clump-free and features intense black pigments for the darkest lashes ever.

How Does Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Perform?

Lancôme Monsieur Big gives me long, curl-all-day lashes that look wispy and romantic, with just the right touch of volume.

While I’ve tried many mascaras over the years that gave me great lash length, Monsieur Big is the only mascara that has helped my stubborn-ass straight lashes hold a curl all day long, which gets huge Brownie points from me.

While I hate that the wand picks up way too much product, after removing the excess, this mascara is easy to apply and one full coat gives me great results (I find two coats can get a bit too chunky for me).

I did notice a bit of flaking when I first started using Lancôme Monsieur Big, although once the formula dried out a smidge a week or so on, this flakiness stopped (if you apply too many coats though, you can expect serious flakage!).

Lastly, Lancôme Monsieur Big is easy to remove with a good eye makeup remover (my favourite is the Almay Longwear + Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover pads!)
