Living For L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation & Voluminous Base Lash Primer

L’Oreal has long been one of my most favourite drugstore makeup brands. Their lipsticks are amazing and makeup artists still swear by their mascaras.

I recently tried out the L’Oreal Pro-Glow foundation and Voluminous Lash Primer and I’ve got to say – L’Oreal nailed it again!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation, 201 Classic Ivory

I’m pretty late to the game on the Infallible line from L’Oreal, but I’m glad I snagged their Pro-Glow Foundation when I did.

It has a great lightweight, creamy texture that blends easily into the skin (using my damp makeup sponge) and gives me long-lasting medium coverage (it hides most of my redness well with one coat).

Pro-Glow is buildable if you want more coverage, but I found adding a second layer to my 30+ skin made it start to look cakey.

I feel like only 20-something YouTubers can apply loads of foundation and concealer and somehow get a flawless, non-cakey finish – yes?

I am forever grateful to L’Oreal for putting this foundation in a soft, squeezable tube – this means I can launch this foundation across the room without it shattering into a million pieces and easily get to every last drop of foundation when it gets too low (by cutting the tube open, of course).

L’Oreal claims that this foundation provides 24-hour coverage – not sure why brands feel the need to make this absurd claim?

I get a good eight hours of coverage out of Pro-Glow, which I’m pretty satisfied with. I’m also happy that the lightest shade, Classic Ivory, is a perfect match for my pale neutral complexion.

L’Oreal Pro-Glow leaves a soft glow to my skin, but not as much glow as I expected – although my skin seems to be extra dull lately.

It dries down without any tackiness and doesn’t cake up around my nose or chin by the day’s end or look patchy in any way.

I especially love how well this foundation blends into my skin, as opposed to others that are visibly sitting on top of my skin like a fleshy coat of paint.

After adding a few spritzes of my Thayers rose petal toner (which has become my setting spray of choice at the moment), my skin is left looking healthy, radiant and refreshed.

To promote the glow, I only set my concealer and dust a bit of powder on the rest of my face.

Oily skin types – L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Glow is not for you.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer

I’m not really sure what has happened to my lashes in the last few years. I used to have pretty nice lashes when I was younger, but I guess like everything else, they have begun to worsen with age.

Looking for a quick solution to plump my waif-like lashes and enhance my super tiny eyes, this primer seemed like the most natural, affordable choice.

L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Primer has been around for quite some time now, so I’m pretty late to this little lash-lifting treasure.

I love the large wand on this mascara, but it does hold A LOT of product, so I always scrape off the majority of the primer before applying it to avoid clumpy lashes.

I skipped this step the first time I used this primer and my lashes instantly glued themselves together.

Voluminous Lash is a white primer, so don’t be alarmed if your lashes look frosty white after applying it.

I’m more interested in gaining length in my lashes rather than volume, so I like to apply most of this primer on the ends of my lashes before going in on the roots.

After applying one coat of Voluminous Lash, I then apply one coat of Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Knockout Mascara and my lashes are instantly intensified.

Now, I’m not saying my piddly lashes turn into falsies, but Voluminous Lash does help enhance the tiny lashes I have. If you overwork the primer when it starts to dry, similar to mascara, the lashes will stick together.

My only complaint is that this primer doesn’t help hold the curl in my lashes, which seem to get straighter and more stubborn with each passing year.

Voluminous Lash removes easily with my Camomile  Sumptuous Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop, which I especially appreciate by the day’s end.
