I love The Body Shop’s products and can’t resist grabbing a few when I walk by the store on my way to work – it’s just too tempting! And is there anything better than slathering on a moisturizing Body Shop Body Butter? I think not.
Today I’m focusing on a few products from the cruelty free brand that is in my much-needed postpartum care kit.

Shea Butter Exfoliating Sugar Body Scrub
I throw this body scrub into the shower whenever I feel like adding a bit of luxury into my otherwise lack lustre postpartum routine. First off, this vegan scrub smells AMAZING. It has a sweet, nutty fragrance and is full of large sugar bits immersed in oil to exfoliate and soften skin. I have to be honest, I don’t feel much scrubbing action with this scrub and it feels like the sugar just disappears after I apply it and it mixes into my wet skin.
However, it leaves my skin feeling like silk (which is not easy, because I have the skin of a rhino) and its scent fills the entire shower. Just beware, you can’t lean the tub on its side, as the oil tends to seep out of the tub (definitely not good for travelling!).

Shea Butter Nourishing Body Butter
The matching Shea butter body butter is great for adding some moisture to my otherwise dry body (again, rhino skin). I normally apply this onto my legs after shaving or to drier bits like my elbows and feet. Not only does it keep my skin soft, but it adds a subtle glow and is a must in my postpartum care kit.
Like the body scrub, it also smells awesome! As with most of the The Body Shop body butters, this doesn’t totally absorb into the skin right away, so I try to really massage it in and usually apply it before bed.

Pink Grapefruit Body Mist
I have tons of perfumes, which I rarely use. We have a no-fragrance policy at work, so I really only wear perfume when I go out and I’m married with two kids, so I never go out. Plus, I find most perfumes to be really strong and sometimes irritating, so I prefer lighter scents that don’t punch you in the face when you smell them. I love citrus or fruity scents, so when I saw this pink grapefruit body mist, I couldn’t resist.
I usually add a couple spritzes to my hair and/or body for a hit of freshness (since the heat wave here leaves me smelling like sweat). The Body Shop has body mists in scents like mango, Shea, strawberry and coconut, so I think I’ll pick up a couple more.
