e.l.f. Cosmetics Opposites Attract Eyeshadow Palette

It’s no secret that I love e.l.f. Cosmetics and I just can’t resist ordering a bunch of items from their site when they have a good sale on. I also have a weakness for eyeshadow palettes and the Opposites Attract palette definitely attracted my wandering eye.

e.l.f.’s also been killing it in the eyeshadow game lately, so this palette made up of warm and cool-toned shadows (yes – it has both!) seemed like a no-brainer purchase to me and I have no regrets – none!

What’s In The Palette?

Opposites Attract retails for $14USD and is made up of 9 warm-toned and 9 cool-toned shadows (left side of palette is warm, right side is cool) and I can vouch for e.l.f.’s claims that these shadows are silky smooth, blendable and pigmented…so pigmented.

The mix of neutral shades and jewel tones means you can achieve both subtle and dramatic looks with this palette and go warm or cool based on your mood or outfit that day.

Opposites Attract is cruelty-free and vegan too.

How The Palette Performs

The Opposites Attract eyeshadows are super soft and fine. The mattes blend like a dream and have crazy pigment, while the shimmers are stunning, especially when applied with a wet brush.

You will get a bit of kick-up and fallout with the mattes because of the super soft formula – especially with the warmer shades – but I’ll take that any day in lieu of dry shadows that fail to blend or show up on me.

I’ve used pretty much every shadow in the palette prior to this review and I can tell you that they perform well and last on me all day with the e.l.f. Shadow Lock Primer underneath. Even the dark green shade “Wise”, which I expected to be patchy, blends out well and delivers stunning pigmentation.

You can see two looks using the palette in the video below by YouTube Beauty Guru Allie Glines:

Below are the shades swatched from the warm half of the palette first (left side) followed by the cool shades on the right half of the palette:

Overall, I’m super happy with Opposites Attract and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great palette on a budget. Well done e.l.f. Cosmetics *slow claps*.

I’ve also declared my love for e.l.f.’s Molten Aqua Cream eyeshadow in Rose Gold (it’s stunning!) as well as the Mad For Matte “Summer Breeze” palette in previous posts.
