End Of Summer Beauty Favourites

I’ve been wanting to do a favourites post for ages, but other posts just kept creeping in and pushing this one back. I’m glad that I decided on an “end of summer” post, because it allows me to celebrate the approaching end of my least favourite season (die summer!).

There have been a few products I’ve been reaching for consistently during these sweltering, torturous months that I wanted to share, because I’ve never been good at keeping great finds to myself!

Persona Cosmetics Identity Eye Shadow Palette

This neutral eye shadow palette of matte and shimmer shades was a great addition to my ever-growing palette collection. The shades have great pigment, blend out well and last all day on my eyes (with a primer).

I especially love how timeless this palette is, since funky eye shadow shades will come and go, but stunning neutrals are forever.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer

I have had oily eyelids since the dawn of time and finally decided that an eyelid primer was necessary.

e.l.f.’s Shadow Lock eyelid primer is a Godsend to me and helps keep my eye shadow in place without the dreaded midday creasing effect that inevitably pops up.

I always set this eyelid primer with a damp makeup sponge dipped in my RCMA No-Color setting powder and the combination is magic! This e.l.f. gem also retails for only $2USD…thank you e.l.f.!

*Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Dry Touch Lotion in SPF 110

I try to avoid the outdoors as much as possible during the summer. However, on the days when I know I’ll be spending a lot of time outside, Neutrogena’s Ultra-Sheer Dry Touch Lotion was my go to.

It blends into the skin well and doesn’t leave a white cast or greasy finish.

Ultra-Sheer provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with a whopping SPF of 110 and a waterproof formula that lasts up to 80 minutes before you need to reapply.

Another favourite of mine in the SPF department is the *Neutrogena Face & Body Stick Sunscreen, a non-greasy roll-on version that I fell in love with and included in my summer handbag essentials post.

Kalleis Lift Serum and The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA

I’ve immensely enjoyed all the products I’ve tried from Kalleis, and the Lift Serum* is no different.

Not only does it plump and hydrate my tired skin, but the remaining redness in my cheeks disappeared shortly after I started using it – something I never thought I would ever see. *AD-gifted*

The Ordinary’s Matrixyl + HA is another item in my skin care basket that I’ve been using daily.

Matrixyl is a trademarked peptide formulated in a hyaluronic acid delivery system that promises to reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

I originally bought this serum for use under my eyes to help plump up that area, but after seeing how well it worked, I immediately starting applying it to the rest of my face.

I’ve been adding two drops of the Lift Serum with one drop of The Ordinary’s Matrixyl in the mornings and the combination has been lovely!

Super soft, even, glowing and plump skin in seconds.

Wet n’ Wild Mega Glo Highlighter in “Blossom Glow”

I have wanted to try Wet n’ Wild’s highlighters FOREVER, but could never find them in my local drugstores.

When I finished my maternity leave, I was ecstatic to find that the Rexall close to my office decided to expand its Wet n’ Wild product display to include eye shadows, highlighters, lipsticks and more from the brand.

The Blossom Glow highlighter is STUNNING and worth every bit of hype that the Mega Glo highlighters have gotten.

The powder is super fine, blends out like a dream and gives my skin the most amazing wet glow without bringing out any texture on the skin.

The shade is a gorgeous soft peachy-pink, which is really beautiful along the cheekbones without being overpowering.

I will definitely be grabbing another highlighter shade from this line – it’s amazeballs!

These highlighters also recently received a 2018 Best Of Beauty award by Allure magazine.

Luxie Beauty Dual-Ended Eye Shadow Brush

I think I got this eye shadow brush in my first Boxycharm box and haven’t put it down since.

The double ended brush means I can easily pat on shadow, flip the brush around and use the fluffy end to blend.

I don’t have much time in the mornings, so beauty tools that work well and save me time get front row accommodations on my makeup vanity. The pretty pink handle and rose gold metal casing on this brush isn’t too shabby either.

I’m not seeing this brush on the Luxie Beauty website though, so I’m not sure if it was limited edition or something?

If that’s the case, I’ve heard great things about this double-ended eye shadow brush from Sephora that might be a good substitute.

e.l.f Cosmetics Shimmer Highlighting Powder in “Pearl Glow”

This glowing highlighter from my last e.l.f. Cosmetics haul is a lovely light, almost silver shade that works well with my pale complexion.

It gives my skin a gorgeous, wet shimmer and the super fine powder is never chalky or heavy on the skin.

L’Oreal Voluminous Base Lash Primer

Not a day goes by that I don’t reach for this drugstore lash primer.

It gives my lashes a serious boost without being heavy or clumpy (just make sure to remove the excess from the brush before applying – trust me!).

I also love that it’s easy to remove with my Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. Voluminous Base is a must-have primer and it helped me to use up some mascaras that weren’t giving my lashes the results I wanted.

L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil

I’m not much of a shower gel person, so this Almond Shower Oil has been sitting in my drawer for a long while. After coming across it during some summer cleaning, I’m really glad I threw it into my shower.

It has the most amazingly sweet, delicious scent and a barely there lather that leaves my skin super soft and smelling incredible. I definitely need to grab the full sized version.
