The T-Sonic pulsations (the “T” stands for “transdermal”, which means “through the skin”) have 12 intensity settings that can be adjusted through the For You FOREO app that you can download for free on your smartphone. How Does The LUNA mini 3 Differ From The Other LUNAs From FOREO?
If you browse the FOREO website, you’ll find a number of their pulsating facial cleansing devices in the LUNA collection. So how is the LUNA mini 3 different from the rest?
Well, exclusive to the LUNA mini 3 is the Glow Boost Mode, which will give you a quick cleanse and glow up in 30 seconds simply by pressing the power button twice when starting up the device. The LUNA mini 3 also features longer silicone touchpoints and improved sonic power for an optimal deep clean in a design that isn’t too big or small to hold.
Price wise, the LUNA mini 3 retails for $199CAD – not the cheapest option (which is the smaller LUNA play for $49CAD) but not as expensive as the larger LUNA 3 or the LUNA 2 Professional, which retail for $259CAD each and feature an anti wrinkle mode that the LUNA mini 3 does not.

Using The FOREO For You App
As mentioned above, the For You app is a free download for your smartphone that lets you connect to your FOREO LUNA mini 3 via Bluetooth. The app will activate the device, register the device for the two-year warranty and lets you adjust the device’s settings.
All 12 of the T-Sonic pulsation settings can be adjusted using the app. You can also extend how long the device will run for if you want more time (it has a default timer of 60 seconds on it).
The app also lets you find your LUNA mini 3 if you are as forgetful as I am and happen to misplace it.
Not into using apps? Don’t worry, you can use the LUNA mini 3 without the app after it has been activated.
FOREO Micro-Foam Cleanser
FOREO also gifted the Micro-Foam Cleanser to test out with my LUNA mini 3 and they’re a great combo. The facial cleanser comes in a squeeze tube for easy storage and dispensing and has the texture of a thick cream that turns into a luscious foam when mixed with water.
It cleanses well, rinses away clean and most importantly, doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry afterwards.
Any facial cleanser that leaves your skin feeling tight or dry after rinsing is most likely stripping your skin of much needed moisture and could lead to dryness, redness and irritation.
This cleanser is vegan, cruelty free and fragrance free while being formulated without sulfates, silicones, mineral oil, disodium EDTA or phenoxyethanol.
While FOREO recommends using this cleanser with their facial cleansing devices, you can use any foaming cleanser that you want!

How To Use The FOREO LUNA mini 3
I love using the FOREO LUNA mini 3 in my night time skin care routine. I add a pea-sized amount of the FOREO Micro-Foam Cleanser onto dampened skin and work up a good foam using my hands first. Then, I turn on the LUNA mini 3 to the highest T-Sonic pulsation setting and literally let it massage and shake all the dirt and oil off of my skin.
The strongest T-Sonic setting is crazy intense and so relaxing; sometimes I think it’s going to shake all my teeth out! It’s seriously the most vigorous and fabulous facial massage you can get at home.
To use the LUNA mini 3 (after activating it through the app):
1 – Turn the device on. By pressing the power button several times after it has been turned on, you can select the T-Sonic pulsation intensity you want (you get to choose from 4 manual settings on the device and the full 12 settings through the For You app).
2 – Apply a foaming cleanser onto dampened skin first, or you can apply the cleanser directly onto your LUNA mini 3 and then use the device to massage the cleanser onto dampened skin.
3 – Gently glide the LUNA mini 3 all over your face and neck using circular motions until the entire area is massaged. If the device automatically turns off but you want to get in a longer massage, simply turn it back on (you can also adjust how long the mini 3 runs by accessing the “settings” option in the For You app and increasing the treatment time).
4 – When you’re done, rinse off the cleanser with lukewarm water and continue with your regular skin care routine.

My Results Using The LUNA mini 3
Again, I’m not a newbie when it comes to using pulsing silicone facial cleansers, but the FOREO LUNA mini 3 is definitely a cut above some of the other options out there on the market.
The intense Glow Boost Mode leaves my skin feeling super clean, soft and utterly amazing and is a great way to destress a tired face before bed while boosting circulation and gently exfoliating.
My pores continue to look smaller and I get less blackheads on my nose. It also helps to keep those pesky whiteheads I get on my chin away, which is something my exfoliants and retinol could never do with 100% success. The gentle exfoliation from this device also keeps the flaky bits I get on my nose, chin and between my eyebrows away without aggravating or stressing my skin.
More importantly, I love that the silicone bristles are gentle enough to be used on my skin every night; I previously used a bristled facial cleansing device (the Clarisonic Mia) and while it was great at cleaning and clearing my skin, the bristles were too rough for me to use on a daily basis.
Overall, I seriously love the bone-shaking massage and deep clean I get with the LUNA mini 3 and would recommend it to anyone looking for smoother, clearer, more radiant skin who doesn’t mind the $199CAD price tag.
However, if this cost doesn’t fall within your budget, FOREO has more cost effective LUNA options for you to consider that can still give you a great deep clean on a budget.
