This Kiehl’s Vitamin C Serum Is Making My Skin Glow

While my most favourite skin care treatment is retinol, I do like to throw in a vitamin C serum once or twice a week to spice things up and get some glow.

After finishing up my 23% Vitamin C Suspension from The Ordinary, I decided to spend a little extra and splurge on the Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Vitamin C Concentrate after hearing great things about the product….and it did not disappoint.

What Are The Benefits of Vitamin C?

Vitamin C, most commonly in the form of l-ascorbic acid, is a powerhouse antioxidant that’s brilliant at fading dark spots, brightening and evening out the complexion, stimulating collagen production, protecting the skin from the harsh effects of pollution and pretty much keeping your skin looking younger, longer.

In short, it’s a must-have ingredient in your skin care arsenal.

Vitamin C can be used day or night in your skin care routine.

How Does This Kiehl’s Vitamin C Serum Work?

The Kiehl’s Line Reducing Vitamin C Concentrate promises to instantly smooth skin, reduce fine lines/wrinkles, improve texture and boost the skin’s natural radiance. It’s made with 12.5% vitamin C, as well as hyaluronic acid to keep your skin looking it’s plumpest.

I usually apply a pea-sized amount of this serum during my evening skin care routine after cleansing, toning and applying my essences.

This serum has a lotion-like texture that creates a slightly warm sensation on contact (totally normal) and an almost greasy feeling on the skin that makes it very easy to apply all over the face (which I love, because this stuff is mucho expensivo). The serum absorbs easily into the skin and the greasiness disappears.

Tip: To boost the antioxidant power of the Line Reducing Concentrate, I like to add two drops of The Ordinary’s Resveratrol 3% and Ferulic Acid 3%.

Resveratrol and ferulic acid are particularly potent antioxidants that neutralize free radical damage to the skin and support collagen production.

Results?

I’ve wanted to try Kiehl’s skin care products for the longest time and this serum did not disappoint! My skin feels amazingly soft whenever I use it and it definitely delivers on its promise of smoother, more radiant skin.

The stubborn fine lines that developed during my retinol-free maternity leave have also diminished quite a bit, so this serum has made me one happy mama!

Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Vitamin C Concentrate will run you anywhere from $30-$130CAD and it comes in four sizes (15mL-100mL). It’s also safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding.
