A Great Moisturizer for Oily Skin (and it’s Korean, so it must be good!)

What makes a great moisturizer for oily skin? Well, for me, it’s a product that keeps my skin hydrated and plump without adding oil and shine to my complexion. Gel moisturizers, in particular, are great for oily skin types because they are usually more lightweight in texture and hydration than their cream counterparts.

Luckily, I found a great aloe vera gel moisturizer that gets along well with my oily skin and soothes my redness at the same time!

The gel comes in a large tub which was full to the brim when I got it, so it will last me a while. This aloe vera gel has a light fresh scent that kind of smells like cucumbers, which I love.

I think it would be mild enough even for people who hate fragrance, because it is not overpowering. It is free from parabens, mineral oil and artificial colours and is made from organic aloe vera certified by California Certified Organic Farmers.

This aloe vera gel can be used for face and body to moisturize and soothe dry or irritated skin, which it does very well. The gel spreads evenly, absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves no sticky/greasy residue behind, so people with oily skin will love it!

The glycerin content (20%) keeps the skin hydrated and acts as a great makeup primer, since glycerin is a binding agent for makeup (similar to the Nivea Shaving Balm that everyone is raving about as a primer).

I love to use this gel in the morning before I apply my sunscreen. In the evening I like to use it after a retinol application or if I’ve done an acid peel – it’s super lightweight and refreshing!

Tip: Keep your aloe vera in the fridge; it makes a great cooling under-eye de-puffer. Aloe vera is also great to soothe sunburns!

I’m curious to see how it will stack up during the cold Canadian winter, although even my thicker creams struggle to keep me hydrated when the weather is super cold. So far, I don’t have any negative comments on this product – I love it and am super happy with my purchase.
