As a beauty blogger and long-time makeup lover, I read A LOT of blog posts and watch A LOT of YouTube beauty videos to find the latest and greatest beauty items.
Throughout all this “research”, one of the recurring makeup favourites of beauty bloggers and vloggers alike has to be the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream.
Why all the fuss? Well, these beauty fanatics seem to think that this CC cream provides amazing lightweight coverage with a gorgeous skin-like finish that lasts all day – and I’m here to tell you that they’re all right.

WHAT IS A CC CREAM?
A CC Cream, or colour correcting cream, is very lightweight, usually lighter in consistency than foundation, and corrects issues such as redness or sallowness to give your complexion a flawless look without the heavy feeling of a full coverage of a foundation.
CC creams usually include a number of skin care benefits and ingredients to protect your skin from sun damage, aging and moisture loss. To sum things up, CC creams are pretty much the do-it-all sister to foundation.

What Does “Your Skin But Better” Promise To Do?
The It Cosmetics CC Cream claims to be a 7 in 1 product by promising to be a:
√ Full-coverage foundation
√ SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen (although I would still advise wearing a separate sunscreen)
√ Brightening colour corrector
√ Hydrating anti-aging serum
√ Poreless finish primer
√ Dark spot concealer
√ Moisturizing day cream
This stuff pretty much does everything but clean your house and watch your kids, am I right? It Cosmetics also claims that their CC cream is good for oily and dry skin types, as well as mature skin.
The It Cosmetics CC Cream comes in 12 shades – my shade is “Fair”- and the brand has an oil-free matte version if you prefer a more matte finish and an illuminating version for extra glow.

√ snail secretion filtrate (soothing and hydrating, rich in copper peptides – good stuff!)

√ hyaluronic acid (attracts moisture, boosts elasticity, and plumps)
√ biotin (a B vitamin that promotes stronger hair and skin)
Why It’s Worth The Hype
My Skin Type (FYI): Combination and gets slightly oily in the t-zone as the day progresses.
Application: While I love using my fingers to apply my foundations, I find the IT Cosmetics CC cream to blend best using a foundation brush – specifically the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which I am head over heels for – you need this brush! The CC cream also has a lovely cooling sensation when it’s applied, which fades as you blend it out. This CC cream also sets down quickly.
Coverage: This CC cream provides amazing coverage that’s easily buildable. I find a thin layer of the IT Cosmetics CC cream gives me solid medium coverage that can be built up to full where I need it. It easily covers the pinkness I get in my cheeks and around my nose and its amazing ability to blend into the skin means that I can easily apply additional layers without it caking up on me like other foundations tend to.
Blendability: For me, this is where this CC cream truly shines! This stuff blends into my skin so seamlessly, despite any areas of dryness or texture, with minimal effort and never looks or feels heavy or cakey in any way. It doesn’t bring out my imperfections – on the contrary – it makes good on its promise to minimize issues like texture and enlarged pores and it doesn’t sink into fine lines. For anyone with mature skin – this stuff is a must-have in your makeup drawer!
Longevity: Your Skin But Better lasts all day on me and I don’t have issues with it smudging, caking up or rubbing off me during the day (FYI: I like to set it with powder). I don’t know how, but this CC cream sinks into the skin and doesn’t let go. It also doesn’t contribute to my oil output or make me greasy in any way – I guess the niacinamide in it is working!

Finish: The finish of Your Skin But Better is truly skin-like. It doesn’t look heavy on my skin and really fits the label “Your Skin But Better” to a T. Whenever I wear this CC cream, I always get compliments on how great my skin looks and I’m always telling people it’s because of the It Cosmetics CC cream I’m wearing. I would describe the finish as healthy and radiant, without being shiny or dewy – if that makes sense? Definitely not flat matte!
