I ordered The Wants eyeshadow palette by Emily Noel near the end of 2018 after fighting a losing battle with myself over whether or not to buy it. The Wants is a collaboration palette between beauty YouTuber Emily Noel and Revolution Beauty.
The truth is, I wanted this palette from the moment it was released and all the reviews, tutorials and swatches that came after just made this wanting worse. After playing around with it over the last few months, I have some thoughts…

The Wants palette comes with 24 shades in a mixture of mattes, satins and shimmers. The variety of shadows in the palette is what drew me to it and the rose gold lettering, large mirror and fun peachy-plastic packaging definitely helped the cause along.
Unfortunately, my carelessness has ruined the pristine packaging, as I accidentally left an open sample of Palmer’s facial oil on it, which leaked and made some of the beautiful lettering rub off.
A makeup sin, I know…Luckily I took pictures of the cover as soon as I got the palette, being aware that I’m careless due to lack of sleep most of the time.
In terms of pigment, The Wants palette is pretty good, with some shadows being more pigmented than others.
There are a lot of pretty shades in The Wants; I love the deep pink shade “Love Tons” and the green shades “Corduroy” and “Side Hustle”, but the purples are what really drew me to this palette.
The shimmers are pretty, but I do wish they had a bit more punch to them and like the Soph x Makeup Revolution palette, I found most of my eye looks did fade a bit by midday, even with a primer.
The palette is also inconsistent, with some shades blending well and others going on a bit patchy and requiring more work to blend.
I didn’t get too much fallout with the deeper shades, except for “Side Hustle” which kicks up a ton of powder when used.
Getting finger deep in the shadows during swatching, I found a lot of them felt very dry to the touch; not a silky or creamy formula by any means.
The shade “Pizzazz” was also a bit disappointing as it looks like a beautiful pink/purple in the pan but shows as a burnt orange on my skin.
I love purple shimmer shadows, so this was a shot to my heart. I’ve included the shadows swatched below; many have been double swatched to properly show the pigment.
