How To Organize Your Makeup – Key Tips
Here are some tips to help you organize your makeup collection:
Categorize Your Makeup
- By product type: Group similar items together, like lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, and foundations.
- By color: Organize your makeup by color to easily find what you need.
- By frequency of use: Keep your most-used items within easy reach.
Use Storage Solutions (see below for options!)
- Makeup organizers: Use drawer organizers, acrylic trays, or tiered trays to keep your makeup tidy.
- Makeup bags: Store smaller items like lipsticks, eyeliners, and mascaras in makeup bags.
- Makeup drawers: If you have a vanity with drawers, use dividers to keep your makeup organized within the drawers.
Clear Out Expired Products
- Check expiration dates: Regularly check the expiration dates on your makeup products.
- Toss old products: Discard any products that are past their prime or have changed color or texture.
Keep Your Makeup Vanity Clean
- Wipe down surfaces: Regularly clean your vanity and makeup brushes to prevent bacteria buildup.
- Organize cords: Use cord organizers to keep your charging cables tidy.
By following these tips, you can create a well-organized and efficient makeup space.

I want that spinning lipstick tower so badly! I think it would be so pretty to display my lippies. I need to get some more acrylic organizers but the prices can get crazy with shipping to Canada.
I know…if only I could build my own! The eBay unit was only $10 or so and shipped free!
These makeup organizers look awesome

I am definitely not as organized as you. I have a few acrylic organizers but not enough for my makeup collection. Great post! :]

Every time I look at these storage pieces, they are way overpriced. Is there a specific brand that I should look at?

I don’t know of a cheaper brand yet, but eBay and Amazon usually offer them cheaper than most retailers. I would start there. I agree, I love these pieces but the price is a turn off!
I loved your blog and your tips

Thanks Renata!
I’ve been looking to reorganise my makeup so this gave me some really good ideas, I love the look of all of that acrylic storage!

I know, if I had enough room for it I would have acrylic pieces everywhere!
