Sona Gasparian is one of my fave YouTubers so I couldn’t wait to try her first release – an eyeshadow palette – from her own makeup brand, Persona Cosmetics. The Persona Identity Palette is made for all eye shades, but includes shades especially picked for brown eyes.

I snatched up the Pérsona Cosmetics Identity Eye Shadow Palette last fall during Thanksgiving when Sona was offering the palette at a discount from her website. I heard a lot of good things about this neutral eyeshadow palette and finally gave into the hype (and the discounted price). The Identity Palette retails for $32USD and is described by the brand as having:
- 12 highly pigmented neutral shades
- 6 buttery matte eyeshadows
- 6 luminous shimmery shadows
- buildable coverage
- a cruelty-free and paraben-free formula
- 0.48 ounces of product
The Persona Identity Palette comes with a small mirror on the inside and beautiful artwork inspired by Paris on the outside – definitely a palette you’d want to display on your makeup vanity.
While I love the white packaging, the softness of the shadows means there is a bit of kick up that tends to get onto the white borders and stain. However, if you tap off the excess before applying, I found it didn’t translate to fallout under my eyes.
Persona Cosmetics is cruelty free.

The Identity Palette Swatches…
While Sona made the palette to bring out brown eyes, the neutral shades work on all eye colours and skin tones and are great for a day at the office or a night on the town.
The swatches from top to bottom are: Fearless, Bossy, Chic, Audacious, Goddess, Bombshell, Maverick, Charming, Seductive, Goal Digger, Sassy and Humble (which you can barely see because it almost matches my skin colour).
Play Time…
This review took FOREVER to complete because being at home with two kids doesn’t really allow for a lot of eye makeup looks. I don’t know about you, but unless you’re one of the Real Housewives, wearing full eye makeup at home is just a little strange – no?
However, after experimenting with all the different shades over the past few months, I can now say that I really like this palette! The shades are creamy and have good pigment (except for “Chic”, the deep purple shade – so disappointing!). The matte shades (again, except for “Chic”) blended out well, while the shimmers gave a great glow to my lids.
The shimmers themselves are beautiful and can be intensified with a bit of MAC Fix+ sprayed onto your brush or just by applying them with your finger. I love that the Identity Palette is made up of shades that create a full eye look, right down to the inclusion of “Fearless”, a deep brown shade that can be used to line the eyes.
I use “Humble” as an all over lid shade to get things going, while “Charming” and “Maverick” are great transition shades for the crease.
“Sassy” is a stunner to highlight your brow bones with while “Seductive” is definitely my favourite shimmer shade. To deepen my outer corner, “Bossy” is my go-to.
My only complaint in terms of shades in this palette is that there is no green. Why Sona? Why?
I love green eye shadows to make my dull brown eyes pop, so I really wish a beautiful emerald shade was thrown into this mix. As I mentioned above, there is a bit of kick up with these shadows, so keeping the crisp white packaging clean on the inside is a bit of a chore.
Maybe I’m being a little picky here, but I also noticed that the shadows themselves were placed a little crooked in the palette. Not something that would affect how the shadows apply, but a detail I thought I’d mention.
You can see the Persona Identity Palette in action with Sona herself below! The brand site has more videos on how to use the palette, plus the Persona Identity Palette Two is now out !
