I’ve wanted to grab one of these trendy silicone facial cleansing brushes for a while, but they’re quite pricey and I’ve always talked myself out of it because of the $$$ involved. But working hard on your blog does have some perks, because I was graciously sent one from NowMi to try out for a review, which I’m sharing with you today.

Benefits Of The NowMi Pro Weekly Vitamin C Facial

Vitamin C is a powerhouse anti-oxidant that I’ve blogged about a ton over the years. I highly recommend using some form of vitamin C in your daily skin care routine – no buts! I’ve had huge improvements in the overall texture of my skin by using vitamin C regularly.

That’s because vitamin C is proven to:

Daily Deep Cleansing Brush

The NowMi Pro cleansing brush deeply cleanses skin with its soft-surface silicone micro-fingers. When turned on, the device emits 6,000 sonic pulses per minute to push your cleanser deep into pores and the pulsing intensity can be increased or decreased with the + or – buttons.

While the NowMi removes impurities from the skin like a boss, it’s still surprisingly gentle. The foaming gel cleanser included with the NowMi Pro is formulated with vitamins E, B3, B5 and Dead Sea minerals to strengthen and reinvigorate the skin.

NowMi also claims that research has shown that sonic cleansing is up to 6 times more efficient than hand washing alone, and from my results, I’d have to agree.

How The Daily Cleansing Brush Worked For Me

I LOVE the silicone cleansing brush of the NowMi Pro.

The silicone bristles gently clean and massage my skin and I found I could use it morning and night with a bit of water and my cream cleansers of the moment (Kosmea  Purifying Cream Cleanser and the Kalleis Detox Cleansing Milk) with zero irritation. I also like to rub the brush over my lips to gently exfoliate and massage them as well – they’ve been getting pretty flaky this winter already.

The cleansing gel included with the device worked well too and cleanses my skin without stripping or irritating it (I’m saving it for my summer skin care routine – I prefer creams and oils in the winter!).

The NowMi cleansing brush not only leaves my skin super clean, but I noticed that shortly after I started using it, my skin was noticeably smoother and softer, with my pores shrinking and becoming less noticeable.

 

I also noticed less clogged pores/blackheads on my nose and the little white bumps and dry patches I get on my chin were gone.

No surprise – I have no plans to stop using this cleansing brush and love the NowMi unit for the cleansing brush alone – it’s way better and gentler than my Clarisonic Mia.

How The Vitamin C Facial Works

After cleansing and drying your face, place the vitamin C tablet in the round rubber holder on the NowMi device (there are 6 vitamin C tablets included and each are one-time use only).

Apply a generous blob of the lubricating gel supplied onto the vitamin C tablet.

Turn on the NowMi device (which vibrates when on) and rub the gel all over your face, then continue to rub the vitamin C tablet over top of the gel for 3-5 minutes.

Rinse when finished.

How The Vitamin C Facial Worked For Me

I had a hard time with this part of the device; I added the lubricant gel onto the vitamin C tablet and then started to rub the tablet all over my face once the gel was dispersed, but noticed the tablet didn’t seem to shrink in size very much. There was a ton of the tablet left over after the 5-minute facial.

Since each tablet is meant for only a one-time use, I had hoped it would easily dissolve and shrink as I massaged it in, but it didn’t. I asked the creator of the NowMi about this and he indicated that the tablets are quite large so they can be used on the face, neck, chest or other parts of the body as desired.

Overall, I’ll have to play around a bit more with the vitamin C facial aspect of the NowMi, as I’d like to be able to have more of the tablet used up during the facial session to feel like I’m getting the full benefits of the vitamin C. For me, the tablet only started to dissolve when moistened.

The rubbing of the tablet over the skin also provides a form of exfoliation, which left my skin smooth and slightly pink.
