Do you regularly use facial oils? Admittedly, I only used to use them in the dead of winter to help seal in my hydration overnight.
However, since trying out a sample of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery facial oil and the (gifted) Kosmea Organic Rosehip Oil, I’ve become a facial oil convert and have added them into my already extensive night time skin care routine.
Riding this facial oil wave, I decided to add a small bottle of the Sunday Riley U.F.O (Ultra-Clarifying Acne Treatment Facial Oil) to my Sephora cart and have been soaking in its emerald silkiness ever since…

What Does Sunday Riley U.F.O. Do?
Sunday Riley describes U.F.O as a “…fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil that clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin…” without leaving a greasy residue behind.
It also works to combat fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture and can be used to fight body acne or scalp acne and claims to be a quick-absorbing dry oil, which can be applied day or night.
It’s also cruelty-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, soy-free, phthalate-free, fragrance-free and vegan.
How Do I Use Sunday Riley U.F.O?
I like to apply U.F.O as the last step in my skin care routine to lock in all my skin care products for the night; it has a natural herbal scent that I’ve come to love (reminds me of raw green peppers) and a gorgeous emerald green hue.
The bottle comes with a pipette that works well and the oil itself is thin and runny in texture. I find two drops are enough to cover my entire face and while the oil doesn’t fully absorb into my skin, I don’t find it greasy or heavy in any way.
My Sunday Riley UFO Review? While I don’t suffer from acne or blemishes, I do get some lingering blackheads on my nose and clogged pores under my bottom lip; have these disappeared since using U.F.O.? No, they’re still there, but less noticeable, in my opinion.
I also love salicylic acid for reducing congestion in my pores and I do feel that Sunday Riley U.F.O. helps keep my skin healthy, silky soft and more radiant overall.
Would I repurchase? The million dollar question and my answer is……I’m not sure.
I love this oil, but I would like to try more facial oils from this range to compare to before biting the bullet and investing in the gorgeous full size bottle of U.F.O. That being said, I really have no complaints about U.F.O. and am glad I bought it.

Does Sunday Riley U.F.O Have Any Dupes?
Finding a facial oil dupe for Sunday Riley is tricky, but not impossible. Some dupes for the oil include The Body Shops’s Tea Tree Oil (to be used as a spot treatment for blemishes). While not an oil The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid serum is a great affordable option to treat blackheads and pimples as well.
Allure claims that the Derma E Rejuvenating Sage & Lavender Face oil is a great acne fighting oil to try.
